As distinct from other flexible couplings, the new generation of NENFLEX spiders, the star shaped, the Wrap-Around and the individual free floating are the subject matter of a patent and a result of CAD analysis and practical dynamic test. The specially designed profile of the spider arm and the drive insert allows only a partial contact with the driver and the driven jaws at no load and 100% contact at nominal torque. There is less abrasion and heat build up which enhances the service life of the spider and also allows a larger load carrying capacity.
A variety of high performance polyurethane materials are available as optional materials for the spiders and drive inserts.
Fleximax Series HSP all metallic steel couplings are torsionally stiff, backlash free couplings, designed to meet the requirements of virtually any drive system. As distinct from other disc couplings, the stainless steel membrane pack is designed using our computer, to ensure that the line of the action of the force corresponds with the center line of the disc. The optimal membrane design allows highest degree of flexibility with buckling resistance and accommodates shaft misalignments. Fleximax couplings have no relatively moving parts, and as such require no lubrication and are virtually maintenance free. Series HSP couplings are also available in compliance with API 671 specifications.
The transmission assembly is simple to install and can be removed without disturbance of the coupled machinery.

FLEXIPAD torsionally flexible couplings are highly elastic couplings. These couplings are very slim and compact. Torque is transmitted from the driver hub to the driven member via individual free floating elastomeric pads, which act as the only connecting medium between them. The elastomeric pads act like a fuse. In case of an extreme overload (eg. Short circuit or wrong synchronizing in case of diesel engines) the pads, which are the weakest link in the system, will shear disconnecting the drive and thereby protecting the connected equipment from dangerous overload. There is no damage to the equipment or to the coupling as there is no metal to metal contact between the driver and the driven half of the coupling.
FLEXIPAD safety couplings are not positive couplings and therefore disconnect the drive as soon as the pads have worn out with service or overload. The drive can be started again by simply replacing the drive pads, which can be done in a matter of minutes. As the drive pads are free floating, no axial forces are generated by the transmission of torque. Torsional stiffness of the FLEXIPAD coupling can be adjusted by choice of different grades of elastomeric pads. Optionally high performance polyurethane pads are also available.
FLEXIPAD couplings come with integral flange or with an intermediate adaptor plate for SAE and other flywheel mounting on diesel engines, and are also available for shaft to shaft connections.
